Route and Drive Time

I-4 East connects Orlando to Daytona Beach in approximately 60 to 75 minutes, covering about 55 miles. The route passes through Sanford, DeLand, and Deltona before reaching the coast. BusBrother drivers are experienced with the heavy I-4 congestion near the I-95 interchange.

Race Day Transportation

Daytona International Speedway draws its biggest crowds for the Daytona 500 each February. Parking around the Speedway is hard for individual cars, and the Speedway lists bus parking in Lot 1, first-come, first-served, with overflow to Lot 6. We handle the pre-race arrival and post-race exit strategy so your group avoids hours in traffic.

Beach Group Outings

Daytona Beach offers 23 miles of hard-packed sand beaches where vehicles are allowed on designated stretches. For groups headed to the Boardwalk area or Ponce Inlet, our bus drops off at Ocean Avenue and picks up at a scheduled time.

Combining Attractions

Groups often combine a Daytona Beach trip with stops at the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse or Marine Science Center. BusBrother can build a multi-stop itinerary that maximizes your day on the coast.

What Do Volusia County and Speedway Rules Mean for a Group Bus?

Volusia County charges non-residents 30 dollars a day for beach driving and 20 dollars a day in county off-beach lots, beach driving runs 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May through October and sunrise to sunset from November through April, and Daytona International Speedway parks buses in Lot 1 first-come, first-served with overflow to Lot 6.

Can the bus drive on the beach?

Beach driving is allowed only in designated areas, with a 10 mph limit that is strictly enforced, and tides and weather can close access. A charter coach drops the group at a beach access point instead, which avoids the per-vehicle beach fee entirely. Source: volusia.org, volusia.org.

Where do buses park at Daytona International Speedway?

The Speedway lists bus parking in Lot 1 on a first-come, first-served basis, and buses are redirected to Lot 6 when Lot 1 is full. Lot availability varies by event, so the carrier checks the event's parking map ahead of race day. Source: daytonainternationalspeedway.com.

What about events at the Ocean Center?

The Ocean Center at 101 N. Atlantic Avenue is less than seven miles from the I-4 and I-95 interchange. Its six-story, 1,350-space garage at 701 Earl Street charges 15 dollars per day on event days, card only. Source: oceancenter.com.

Can a bus use the I-4 Express lanes?

No. I-4 Express allows two-axle vehicles only, so motorcoaches stay in the general lanes, and I-4 reaches I-95 South at Exit 132B near Daytona Beach. Factor that into departure times on busy weekends. Source: i4express.com, fdot.gov.

What Do Groups Ask About This Trip?

Volusia County charges non-residents 30 dollars per day or 150 dollars for an annual visitor pass for beach driving, effective October 1, 2024, and 20 dollars per day in county off-beach lots. A group arriving by charter avoids those per-vehicle fees because the coach drops passengers at a beach access point instead of driving onto the sand.
Daytona International Speedway lists bus parking in Lot 1 on a first-come, first-served basis, with buses redirected to Lot 6 when Lot 1 fills, and availability varies by event. Arrive early on race days and have the carrier review that event's official parking map before departure.
From downtown Orlando to the Daytona Beach Boardwalk is about 58 road miles, roughly 72 minutes in free-flowing traffic, based on OSRM routing, and from Sanford it is about 41 miles or 54 minutes. Motorcoaches cannot use the I-4 Express lanes, which allow two-axle vehicles only, so add time on busy weekends and race days.
