About Brevard County
Brevard County stretches 72 miles along the Atlantic coast and is home to over 600,000 residents. While the Space Coast identity dominates the tourism brand, Brevard offers much more including the Brevard Zoo, a thriving craft beer scene in downtown Melbourne, the Cocoa Village arts district, and the Indian River Lagoon, one of the most biodiverse estuaries in North America.
Communities
Key communities include Titusville in the north, known as Space City USA; Cocoa and Cocoa Beach in the center near Port Canaveral; and Melbourne and Palm Bay in the south. Each community has its own character, from Titusville's space heritage to Melbourne's downtown arts district to Cocoa Beach's surf culture.
Outdoor Recreation
Brevard County offers exceptional outdoor recreation including surfing at Sebastian Inlet, kayaking the Indian River Lagoon, fishing on all 72 miles of coastline, and hiking at Enchanted Forest Sanctuary. The Turkey Creek Sanctuary in Palm Bay features a boardwalk through a pristine Florida hammock. Multiple parks offer excellent birdwatching.
