About Tampa International Airport
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is consistently ranked among the best airports in the United States for passenger experience. Located about 6 miles west of downtown Tampa, TPA serves over 23 million passengers annually. The airport is a major gateway for visitors to Tampa Bay, the Gulf beaches, Busch Gardens, and cruise travelers heading to Port Tampa Bay.
Terminal Layout
TPA features a main terminal building with six airside concourses connected by automated people movers called SkyConnect. The main terminal houses check-in, security, baggage claim, and a large food and retail area. The airport completed a major expansion adding Airside D in 2018.
Ground Transportation
TPA offers rental cars in a dedicated center connected by the SkyConnect system, rideshare pickup on Level 2 of the Blue Short-Term Garage, taxis, and hotel shuttles. The airport is conveniently located near I-275 and SR-60 for easy highway access. BusBrother provides group charter service from TPA to any destination in Central or Southwest Florida.
Connecting to Central Florida
TPA is about 85 miles from Orlando via I-4, 25 miles from Clearwater, and 20 miles from downtown St. Petersburg. For groups arriving at TPA and heading to Orlando or the theme parks, BusBrother charter service is more comfortable and cost-effective than renting multiple cars.
