About I-75 Near Tampa

Interstate 75 runs along the eastern edge of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area, providing north-south connectivity from Ocala through Tampa to Fort Myers and Naples. In the Tampa area, I-75 passes through Temple Terrace, Brandon, and Riverview. The highway serves as the main route between Tampa and Southwest Florida destinations.

Key Interchanges

Important I-75 interchanges in the Tampa area include I-4 East to Orlando, I-275 South to downtown Tampa and St. Petersburg, SR-56 to Wesley Chapel and New Tampa, and SR-64 to Bradenton. The I-75/I-4 interchange in Hillsborough County is a critical junction for travelers moving between coasts.

Alligator Alley Connection

South of the Tampa area, I-75 becomes Alligator Alley as it crosses the Everglades between Naples and Fort Lauderdale. This 78-mile stretch through the Everglades has no services or exits.
