Where Does Tri-Rail Go?

Tri-Rail lists 19 stations: 6 in Palm Beach County, 7 in Broward County and 6 in Miami-Dade County, according to its Tri-Rail facts page. The line runs from Mangonia Park, north of West Palm Beach, through Fort Lauderdale to Miami Airport. Since January 13, 2024, Tri-Rail has also served MiamiCentral in downtown Miami, with a train-to-train transfer at the Metrorail Transfer Station.

How Much Does Tri-Rail Cost?

Tri-Rail fares are zone-based: the system has six zones, and your fare depends on how many zones you travel through, with round trips costing double a one-way and discount fares available for eligible riders. Tri-Rail's homepage announced new fares effective September 22, 2026, and its published fare pages did not all agree when we checked on October 7, 2026, so we are not reprinting a price list here. Use the official fare page for the West Palm Beach to Miami fare or any other trip, and buy before boarding, because tickets are not sold on the train.

How Do I Know Which Tri-Rail Car Has the Bike Rack?

Tri-Rail says most trains have one bicycle car per train set, with a 14-space bike rack. Look for the bike sticker on the boarding doors as the train pulls in, and board that car. Details are on the Tri-Rail bicycle page.

Can I Take Tri-Rail to the Airports?

Yes, with a connection. Tri-Rail runs a complimentary shuttle bus between its Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport station and the airport about every 15 to 20 minutes during train hours. At Miami International Airport, the Miami Airport station connects to the MIA Mover. Does Tri-Rail Connect to the Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port?

Not directly. Tri-Rail's Fort Lauderdale station page lists connections to Broward County Transit routes 9, 22 and 81 and does not mention Port Everglades. Port Everglades says its cruise terminals are 1.8 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, so cruise passengers usually finish the trip by taxi, rideshare, a cruise line transfer or a private group shuttle.
