About Brevard Zoo

Brevard Zoo is a 75-acre community zoo in Melbourne, about 70 miles southeast of Orlando. The zoo is uniquely designed to integrate natural waterways with animal habitats, allowing guests to kayak through certain exhibit areas. Over 900 animals representing 195 species are housed in naturalistic environments organized by geographic region.

Unique Experiences

The Kayak Through the Zoo experience paddlesthrough the Expedition Africa and Wild Florida sections, passing near giraffes, rhinos, and alligators from water level. Treetop Trek is an aerial adventure course with zip lines, bridges, and climbing challenges over the zoo. Giraffe and rhino feeding encounters bring guests face-to-face with these animals.

Exhibits

Expedition Africa features giraffes, white rhinos, and African wild dogs. Wild Florida showcases alligators, Florida panthers, bald eagles, and river otters. Rainforest Revealed houses jaguars, giant anteaters, and tropical birds. Paws On is an interactive children's area with play structures and a splash pad.

Group Visits

BusBrother transports groups from Orlando to Brevard Zoo, about a 70-minute drive. The zoo offers group rates and educational programs. The kayak experience is especially popular with corporate team building groups. Combining a zoo visit with a Space Coast beach trip makes for a full group day.
