About the Aquarium
Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a working marine animal hospital and aquarium in Clearwater, Florida. The facility gained worldwide fame as the home of Winter, the dolphin featured in the Dolphin Tale films. The aquarium focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured marine animals including dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, pelicans, and otters.
Animal Encounters
Visitors can observe dolphins, sea turtles, and other animals in rehabilitation pools. Interactive programs include dolphin encounters, sea turtle feeding, and behind-the-scenes tours. The animal care center allows visitors to watch veterinary procedures and rehabilitation activities. Staff provides educational presentations throughout the day.
New Facility
The aquarium completed a major expansion and renovation creating a modern facility with larger habitats, an outdoor pool deck for dolphin viewing, and a rooftop observation area overlooking Clearwater Harbor. The new building greatly improved the visitor experience while maintaining the aquarium's focus on rescue and rehabilitation.
Group Visits
