About De Leon Springs
De Leon Springs State Park is located in De Leon Springs, about 30 miles north of Orlando near DeLand. The park features a large spring pool that was once used to power a sugar mill in the 1800s. The spring pumps millions of gallons of 72-degree water daily and the pool is open for swimming year-round.
The Old Spanish Sugar Mill
The most unique feature of De Leon Springs is the Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant, where guests cook their own pancakes on griddles built into each table. The restaurant serves stone-ground pancakes with options including blueberry, banana, and chocolate chip. Waits can exceed an hour on weekends, so arrive early.
Swimming and Kayaking
The spring pool is large enough for swimming laps and features a designated swimming area. Kayak and canoe rentals are available for paddling the spring run to Lake Woodruff. The paddle trail offers a peaceful journey through cypress-lined waterways with abundant bird life.
