About Volcano Bay

Universal's Volcano Bay is a water theme park that opened in 2017 as part of Universal Orlando Resort. The park is centered around the 200-foot Krakatau volcano and features 18 attractions spread across four themed areas. Volcano Bay uses TapuTapu wearable technology to hold your place in virtual lines so guests can enjoy the park without standing in queues.

Top Slides and Rides

Ko'okiri Body Plunge is a 125-foot drop slide through the volcano with a trap door start. Krakatau Aqua Coaster is a water coaster that uses linear induction technology to propel rafts uphill through the volcano. The Reef is a leisure pool with views into an aquarium. Waturi Beach is a multi-directional wave pool with waves up to 6 feet.

Planning Tips

Volcano Bay operates seasonally and closes during cooler months. The park reaches capacity quickly during summer weekends and holidays. Arriving at opening is the best strategy for experiencing all slides. Premium seating cabanas are available for rental and include food and beverage service.

Group Visits

Volcano Bay is excellent for group events, corporate outings, and family reunions. Universal offers group event packages that can include private areas. BusBrother provides transportation from all Central Florida locations to the water park, which is located adjacent to the main Universal Orlando theme parks.
